KNOBS Knobs are mounted to the cabinet with a single screw or bolt. They can be mounted alone or with a variety of backplates to both protect the cabinet surface and to achieve a particular style combination. Knobs can be found in a variety of shapes including round, square, oval, triangular, square, rectangular, and T-shaped. Styles range from plain to nautical (see the primer for styles on the Cabinet Hardware Basics page). Typically knobs are used on the cabinet doors and pulls are used on the cabinet drawers. Dimensions are typically expressed as diameter and projection. Typical sizes range from 3/4 inch to 2 inches. Don't forget to measure the mounting screw length needed (see the installation tips page for more details).
